Handy Chevrolet's Official Blog

So when is the last time you've checked out Handy Chevrolet's website?  Was it longer than a week ago?  If so, you're missing out on some pretty exciting stuff.

First, our newest Sales Consultant, Jason Mobley, was nominated for Employee Spotlight of the Month for August 2010.  Jason, who worked for four years as the Used Car Manager at Freedom Chrysler in South Burlington, Vermont and over a decade before that at…

Cruze News and Volt Bolts

More Green News

Well here I go again-much to the chagrin of the constant reader, I'm sure-but it is my job to keep everyone well informed, and if you are keeping pace with all the blogs I write for Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans, VT, then you should be leaving me comments.  Since you aren't, I have to reiterate frequently.  So I'm sorry to those of you who read everything I write…
The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze has a segment-leading 10 air bags to help keep passengers safe in a crash, and an engineering specialist who does his most inventive thinking about vehicle safety in the middle of the night.

Scott Thomas, among the engineers associated with the Cruze's double-digit air bag count, has some 30 safety patents to his credit - most of which were awarded for new or improved air bags and restraint systems.

The Cruze?

2010 Chevrolet Malibu

It's time to take the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu for a test drive. 2010's model comes in a variety of trims offered by the General Motor's brand. The 2LT starts with a base price of $25,175, along with a 3 year/36,000 mile basic warranty and a 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

For a mid-sized sedan, the vehicle brings back high numbers at the fuel economy level. EPA fuel?
I'm sure everyone remembers the Chevrolet Caprice cruiser/police interceptors.  They were bulletproof tanks charged with keeping local, state police, and county officers safe, while at the same time getting them where they needed to go quickly.  For years I remember seeing these enormous big Chevrolet's everywhere, accruing far more miles than one even had the right to expect from any vehicle used under the severe conditions in which they were operated; to…
As the impending release date rapidly approaches and leaves the "distant future" tag behind, the Chevrolet Volt is getting more and more press coverage, along with which comes more solid details.

When the first person got into a Volt, the following was the basis of the reviewers dialog:
It's quiet and the dashboard looks like an iPod interface!  How chique!
The reviews flew in, as Chevrolet and General Motors were both eager to appease…

A little bit of a lot

Did you know Handy Chevrolet is now a Saturn and Pontiac Service provider?  That's right!  Just because these companies folded under the weight of the economic climate doesn't mean you're out of luck!

I've recently had a quick chat with Service Manager Scott MacArt of Handy Chevrolet, and he's told me this himself.  In fact, he and I are getting together at some point this week to discuss the implementation of the two brands in an effort to let you, our customers and potential customers, know exactly what the deal is.  When I know more…
With the unrelenting fervor to continue research into green technologies, one has emerged that I hope gains some traction.  Ethanol is, for better or worse, the first fuel somewhat commercially viable fuel aiming to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  The biggest detraction of ethanol relates to its derivation from corn, which would normally be used as food rather than fuel, and it costs more energy to create than it yields as a fuel.

The 2011 Traverse and 2011 Silverado

Yesterday, August 18, 2010, I published a blog about the three new 2011 vehicles sitting on the lot:  the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, Malibu, and Traverse, all of which I got to spend a little time in and around.

Today I took an extra long look at the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, and I can't even properly word how sweet this thing is.  I drove the 2010 and was quite impressed with the feel of the…
