The Cruze Has Landed

For months upon months, I've been blathering on about the Chevrolet Cruze and the Chevrolet Volt, the fuel efficient Chevrolet's meant to bring the company into the "expensive fuel" era with style.  Well Wednesday during a routine trip to our vehicle lot, the long awaited Cruze was there before my eyes in all its fresh, fantastic glory.

Allow me to tell you my friends that this is a sweet looking vehicle.  The 2011…

Chevrolet Unveils Volt Home Charger

Chevrolet is about to release the Volt electric car to dealerships nationwide. With that, consumers will need a port to charge their Volt vehicles.

Chevrolet has made such an agreement with a supplier to offer Chevrolet Volt owners one of the most affordable 240V home charging units on the market.

Priced at $490 before installation, Chevrolet's "Voltec" 240V home charging unit is one of several  units to be offered for sale by SPX Service
Chevrolet Cruze was just released across the United States and Canada. Fans are loving this updated sedan, with its standard tech features and good size (for its class) engine. But those overseas are now getting a first taste of Cruze, and they like it.

In the UK, Chevrolet is finishing up test rounds of all their 2011 models. Cruze is set to drop very soon.

An Apology Regarding the Website—From the Internet Manager

Hello friends.  Today's blog is not a cheery one for me to write, but it must be done nonetheless.  As you may or may not know depending on the ferocity with which you view our staff page and absorb the information thereon, I am the Internet Manager at the Handy Family of Dealerships, or more poignantly HandyCars.com.  I got this job for two reasons:  (1) I'm brilliant beyond all ability to fathom, and (2) because I'm simply great.  Okay, that's not it-I just thought before I depressed myself I'd inject some humor, lame though…

Weathering the Weather

Here it comes Handy Fans? the yearly gripe about the weather.

Before we begin, let's agree-and since I'm writing, we are in agreement-that there are generally two types of Vermonters.  On the one hand you have the folks that love the changing seasons, love the winter and summer equally, or something along those lines.  These people I like to call true Vermonters.  You also have a second type of Vermont resident who, every?

Congrats All Around

Wow!  That's about all I can muster, but what I mean is that you guys and gals selling Chevrolet's and servicing GM vehicles in Handy Chevrolet's Sales and Service departments, respectively, have done one heck of a job!

For those of you not privy to the exciting news in Handy Chevy-land, we were awarded with an astounding honor as the company has won its first Mark of Excellence Award for 2009 (awarded…

Bday Bliss

This past Saturday was my 26th birthday, and a great one at that.  I got tons of birthday wishes, something I don't generally like too much (I always operated under the notion that birthdays are kind of lame and that if anyone deserves credit on October 9 for anything relating to my birth it's my mother; heck, I didn't do anything), but perhaps another year wiser has lessened my quarrel with the annual milestone.  Unlike some I know, I didn't marvel at my yearly greatness; on the contrary, it was just nice to humbly accept the…

The Newest Aveo Aims to Please

With all the hubbub surrounding Chevrolet's looming releases, those of course being the Chevrolet Volt and Chevrolet Cruze coming out in mere months, it's easy to forget about the other compact sedan in Chevrolet's staple, the well-selling Chevrolet Aveo.

With a starting MSRP of just over $12,000 for a base model, this is a perfect vehicle for many segments of the population:  the money-weary miser (like myself), the college student or…
Ever since the new Camaro vehicles hit dealership lops over the past few years, fans have been hoping Chevrolet would release a convertible or drop-top variant. GM tossed the idea around for a few years, never actually committing to a large production line of topless Camaro's.

A few Convertible Concepts were built and sold to auctions for charity - now it seem Chevrolet will indeed put more Camaro Convertibles into action.

This news was announced…
What's the fastest upcoming police cruiser out there? Recently, several American auto makers came to Michigan, and testing their fresh law enforcement packages on the race course.

Not surprisingly, the reborn Chevrolet Caprice, a model that was the doll of police departments for years before Crown Vic took over in the 1990's, came in first.

Over 500 spectators, press people, car officials and those working for the Big Three American auto makers came…
