Handy Chevrolet's Official Blog

A New Entry in the Blogosphere

Hello Handy Chevrolet fans, my name is Jason Rodriguez, the newest addition to the Handy Chevrolet family and the newest member of the ever-growing internet department.  The best part about Handy Chevrolet (so far that is, as I've only worked here for two weeks) other than the state of the art facility is how welcome you feel when you walk into the dealership.  I feel like I have worked here for years as opposed?

Our Resident Geek at Handy Chevrolet Plays Numbers

The Chevrolet Volt is an odd duck.  You can't really give it a traditional fuel economy score in terms of "miles per gallon," because some of the variables in the equation are missing.  Think of this as an algebra equation (don't groan too loudly, we're talking basic stuff here):  fuel efficiency is the outcome or z, where the integers we use to find z--i.e. the number we really care about--are x?

I'd like to start today's piece about the vehicle I speak about the most with a sarcastically exasperated "WHAT?!" or maybe even an "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"  Why the incredulous attitude today?  Because yet another benchmark labeled "success" has been slapped across Popular Mechanics' Invention of the Year, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt.

Since you all know I love to recap, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt is a range-extending hybrid of sorts that owns the…
"What would ya do-ooh-ooh... for a Klondike Bar... dum dum!"  Remember that tune?  Of course you do; we all do.  I mean, come on, it's one of those brilliant marketing campaigns that becomes ingrained in the hive mind that is humanity, and isn't that what the whole commercial world is about?

Well I'm going to borrow it for a quick minute (although truthfully, and I'm speaking to you Klondike, I use…

A New Breed of Subcompact Chevrolet

The upcoming 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is gonna smoke the competition.  Gutsy statement, right?  Well let me backtrack to the release of one of the--shall we say quirkiest cars to come out and/or be reinvented in the past couple of decades:  the Volkswagen Beetle.

I don't know about you, nor am I trying to bash on your likes and tastes, but the "new" style of Beetle is... well, yuck.  I much prefer the death…

The Power of Chevy's Engines Doesn't Just Mean Muscle

With so many excellent, fuel efficient choices on the market today, it's no wonder why so many customers are wary of their car sales professional.  "What makes this vehicle different from the rest?" we hear so frequently you'd think I was lying if I gave the amount an estimate, and like I said there's really no reason against this thought.

30 miles per gallon is now kind of a "norm" in that…

BEST... QUARTER... EVER!

Ah, yes, the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons; do you know how long I've been waiting to spit that quote out, let alone to use it on something as excellent and poignant as this?

Before I get too far ahead of myself, enter the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, the 40 mile per gallon-getting subcompact sedan from Chevrolet, a venture that many wrote off as a disaster before ever seeing the beauty in action.  Featuring…

The 20XX Mi-ray Roadster Concept

One of my favorite parts of the automotive business is undeniably the new cars.  Every year without fail as you well know the new Chevrolet vehicles come out and wow customers and the guys and gals who sell them alike.  Though I'm sure being around the business for the last while has exacerbated this childlike enthusiasm for the "new, shiny toys" we receive annually, I still remember when I was young thinking each iteration…
For the past four to six months we've seen a lengthy list of heated debates, be it within the blogosphere, word of mouth, or somewhere in between, regarding the differences--and oddly close similarities--of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt and the competing 2011 Nissan Leaf.  In case you aren't aware, the biggest way the Nissan Leaf differs from the Chevy Volt is that the Leaf is exclusively an electric vehicle, lacking the semi-traditional albeit technologically…
Leave it to Handy Chevrolet to do things right.  Where most Chevrolet dealers in Vermont just want any 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, we at Handy Chevrolet get a Super Sport (SS) Camaro Convertible right off the bat!

Take a gander at this stunning beauty in deep black paint, complete with a retractable roof to let that cool summer breeze blow not only through your hair but perhaps tickle your brain!  If the wind doesn't…
