The 2012 Camaro is fast... but is it safe?

The new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, available now at Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans, VT, a new, used, and Certified Pre-owned vehicle dealer serving Burlington in both Camaro Coupe and Camaro Convertible form, is nothing if not a rocket ship at an average sedan's price point - but how safe is it?

In today's blog we answer that exact question thanks to the incredible test scores the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro earned in its latest National Highway Traffic Safety New Car Assessment and we also list a few reasons why the Camaro's top marks were all but assured thanks to some great Chevy engineering.

The Six Speeds of the Sonic

Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans, VT's General Motors and Chevrolet Motors representative, Jim Youmans, came into the store today to give our staff a rundown of why GM thinks the 2012 Chevy Sonic is going to be a winner among Chevrolet shoppers in Vermont.  We were introduced to the Six Speeds of the Sonic, which amounts to:

  • Substance
  • Sizzle
  • Style
  • Solid
  • Social
  • Safety

Read the rest of today's blog to find out why each one might entice you and why the Sonic could very well be the most affordable, well put together subcompact sedan or hatchback (and only American-made at that) ever.

More news on the Spark from the LA Auto Show

As we mentioned yesterday in a brief blog about the 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco and the 2013 Chevy Spark, the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show is now in full swing as we conclude the middle point thereof.  Though the Chevrolet Malibu of next year is taking a lot of the limelight, the other car is the real newsworthy vehicle:  a 40 mile per gallon compact sedan or hatchback slated for an electric-hybrid engine similar to the Chevy Volt's?  I don't know about you, but it sounds like a gas-sipping winner if I've ever heard of one.

That…

Chevrolet hybrids win big in LA

This week in the neighborhood of America's excessive celebrities, one of the biggest automotive shows in the world the Los Angeles Auto Show takes place, highlighting the future of today's biggest auto manufactures' offerings.  Though hybrid vehicles are all the craze, what with Toyota releasing several iterations of the Prius, Kia and Honda coming out the gates swinging, and Ford's EcoBoost technology rivaling that of many sedans, Chevrolet stole the show with…

The Chevy Volt is the new celebrity car of choice

Perhaps due to the green movement, the lack of availability in many areas, or simply due to a legitimate love of the vehicle and/or eco-consciousness, an interesting new fad has risen in the Hollywood community:  the Chevrolet Volt has become extremely popular among celebrities.

Last December, Jay Leno, an avid car collector specializing in classic muscle and sports cars, took delivery of his first Chevy Volt, claiming to be a strong believer in the…

Larry Ringler's "A century of Chevy"

If you read the Handy Chevrolet Blog, you know full well I don't often poach blogs.  However when you can't say it better you just can't say it better (not to mention with Congress threatening to crack down on all things web-related, I better re-post and credit this stellar story while I can).

So in the wake of Chevrolet's official 100th birthday this past week and while we at Handy Chevrolet…

The wait is over!  In today's blog, Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans, VT goes over the initial, Chevrolet-released pricing of the biggest car to hit the Burlington Chevrolet crowd since the Camaro Z28 in the 1970s:  the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Introducing the 2013 TrailBlazer... maybe

In a world that has long since passed us, the TrailBlazer and its forbearer the Chevy Blazer were king of the early SUV realm.  In fact the Blazer was part of the SUV craze's boom, berthing the Explorer and Escape, the CRV and Pilot, and all the other competitors you see along the streets of St. Albans.  Because of this, fans of the TrailBlazer, which there were legions of, were disappointed to see their...

As many of you know, be it from our Facebook page, Twitter stream @handychevrolet, our blog, or simply due to the large marketing campaign Chevrolet and General Motors have employed to commemorate the event, America's automotive icon, Chevrolet, has turned 100 (as of November 3, 2011).

Before we get to today's topic, let me just say we at Handy Chevrolet of St. Albans, VT did our part, as did many of the joint...
