The American Cancer Society, a longtime advocate of both finding a cure for cancer and giving unrivaled support to victims of the widespread disease, recently received a matching donation of $1,339.
With this additional funding Handy Chevrolet and other contributing businesses have aided the American Cancer Society in continuing operations that have brought hope to millions of Americans including:
- Cancer information
- A 24 hours a day, seven days a week cancer hotline
- Breast cancer support
- Prostate cancer support
- Hair loss and mastectomy products
- Hope Lodge lodging
- Rides to treatment
The American Cancer Society also uses funding to provide research monies, alternative fund raisers like the Relay for Life run or student based College Relay for Life as well as various other ACS events.
