First of all, what is a "differential?"  In the simplest terms, the differential houses the gears that send power from the engine and transmission to the wheels.  Like any other mechanical component of your Chevrolet vehicle, however, over time the gear oil used to keep the differential mechanisms running smoothly and from seizing up can get dirty and the gears themselves can get worn down, especially on a vehicle that is really abused (a snow plower's truck for example).

During our Certified Service technician's differential service here at Handy Chevrolet, we will replenish these gear oils and inspect the gears and mechanisms for wear and tear.  If needed, we will report the findings to a customer and see how they want to proceed.  This service is very important to keeping your truck running smoothly (and in the worst of times at all).  In fact the differential service is generally recommended after each 50,000-mile interval at the most.
