A lot like Maintenance I in many ways, Handy Chevrolet's GM Certified Service Maintenance II is another level of prevention maintenance for your GM or Chevrolet vehicle.  As a general rule of thumb, the more you can do to prevent an engine seizure, excess tire wear, or any other number of guaranteed-to-be expensive auto repair procedures by "maintaining" a vehicle, the better.  And of course that's where Maintenance II comes into play as hugely beneficial Certified Service Menu items.

Maintenance II does vary slightly from Maintenance I, though, as it is recommended at a different mileage interval.  Let's take a look at some of the things you and your GM/Chevrolet vehicle will be treated to during the Handy Chevrolet Certified Service Maintenance II service:

• Engine oil and filter is changed, including up to six quarts of the oil type recommended in your Chevrolet's Owner Manual
• The vehicle's Oil Life System (OLS) is reset (if present)
• Our technicians visually inspect for any leaks or damage
• Your Chevrolet's engine and engine air filter is inspected and the air filter is changed as needed
• The vehicle's tires are inspected and rotated as necessary, tire pressure is adjusted to optimal levels, and the tire pressure monitoring system is reset if needed/available.  Your vehicle's tires are also checked for any excess wear, cracking, etc.
• The brake system gets a complete inspection including brake lines, hoses, brake pads, brake calipers, wheel cylinders, rotors, and drums
• Vehicle fluids are inspected and topped off as necessary
• The coolant system gets inspected
• Body components get lubricated
• Restraint systems (seatbelts, etc.) are inspected thoroughly
• Suspension and steering systems get lubricated and inspected
• Wiper blades are inspected and may be replaced upon approval of the patron
• Key vehicle components are lubricated including the front suspension, ball joints, steering linkage, and parking brake cable
• Transmission and transaxle fluid levels are inspected and replenished as needed
Engine and accessory belts get inspected
• Evaporative control system gets inspected

For those of you with a Chevrolet, GM, or other truck containing a diesel Duramax engine and an Allison transmission, the following will be inspected:

• Inspection of external control-main filter
• Fuel filter service
• Air intake system gets examined
• Control-main filter and fuel filters may be replaced as necessary for extra cost upon approval of the customer
