The new 2024 Chevy Silverado: It works just as hard as you do

The Chevy Silverado 1500 has been out-working the competition for a long time and for 2024, the work has only begun. Chevy has been building full-size pickups for generations that have been working on ranches, on construction sites and pulling boats and trailers to lake houses. That work continues today. The current Chevy Silverado 1500 can handle its responsibilities with a wide range of powertrain choices including a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V8 engines and a torque-rich, long-lasting Duramax diesel.

The latest Chevy Silverado beats some of the toughest competitors when it comes to towing capacity including the Ram 1500 and the GMC Sierra 1500. You can also choose the Silverado 1500 ZR2 when you want to experience the best that the great outdoors has to offer. Trim levels in the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500

For the upcoming model year, the new Chevy Silverado 1500 gives buyers in Burlington and Swanton, VT a total of seven trims to choose from:

  • Work Truck
  • Custom
  • LT
  • Trail Boss
  • RST
  • LTZ
  • High Country

The base level Work Truck and the Custom trims are just the ticket for tradesmen and construction guys who are on a tight budget. When you get to the LT model, you're talking about a fancier interior. You can also configure your Silverado 1500 with the Crew Cab and standard length bed for maximum cargo and passenger space. The Chevy Silverado Trail Boss comes with a 2-inch lift right from the factory.

The RST trim is a high-performance sports truck package that gives you improved handling and more horsepower. The Silverado LTZ package gives you leather upholstery and chrome door handles. The Chevy Silverado High Country is the top of the line and includes premium leather seat trim and open-pore wood trim.

Engines and performance

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 will offer truck drivers in Plattsburgh VT a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a pair of V8 engines and the Duramax diesel inline six-cylinder engine. The 6.2-liter V8 engine provides 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It's the fastest Chevy Silverado and can propel you from zero to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. The smaller 5.3-liter V8 gives you 355 horsepower and takes 6.1 seconds to reach 60 mph. The Duramax diesel delivers 305 horsepower and an awesome 495 pound-feet of torque.

Towing and payload capability

The Chevy Silverado gives you a towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. That's enough to beat the Ram 1500 by 550 pounds and it's also enough to out-pull the GMC 1500. You can get Chevy's best tow rating with the 6.2-liter V8 engine and the 5.3-liter V8 can still tow as much as 11,500 pounds. The turbocharged four-cylinder isn't too far behind with a towing capacity of 9,500 pounds. Chevy's payload ranges from 1,870 pounds to 2,280 pounds.

Interior and cargo

Starting at the LT trim, you'll get a nicer dashboard design thanks to a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a big center touch screen. In the High Country trim, you'll be sitting on leather upholstery and you'll find a nice range of different bed lengths for storing your cargo.

Infotainment technology

Every 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 will be equipped with a touch screen infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and a mobile hotspot. Physical knobs and buttons make the system easier to use and in the LT trim and higher, you'll get a big 13.4-inch horizontal touch screen.
